I first learned about whipped coffee in 2020. Around that time, whipped coffee became a trend on TikTok, so of course, I had to try it! One of my sisters, who is a barista, taught me how to make it and we would have whipped coffee almost everyday. However, back in those days, we didn’t have a milk frother, so we had to use a fork or a whisk. The fork and whisk worked, but it just took a much longer time to make the whipped coffee. I started experimenting with the recipe and eventually came up with iced salted caramel whipped coffee

After you make this drink, you’ll find that you are left with a delicious maple foam on top of your milk of choice . Additionally, your milk will be salted caramel flavored. Once you mix everything together, your salted caramel whipped coffee will have a rich salted caramel flavor with just the right amount of sweetness. And not to be biased, but I would argue that this iced coffee beverage is better then even some of the more expensive coffee drinks that I have gotten from different coffee houses. In addition, this drink is very affordable compared to buying coffee from coffee houses. Which there is nothing wrong with going out and getting coffee, but personally I love learning new ways to save money.

One of the things that I love most about my salted caramel whipped coffee recipe is that it’s so quick and easy to make. Also, I would like to add that it’s effortlessly easy to substitute different ingredients. For instance, let’s say that you can’t have regular milk. Therefore, you can add your favorite coconut milk instead of regular milk. Or maybe you’d rather use honey, so you just use the same amount of honey that you would use for maple syrup. Simple enough, right?

Additionally, you could use a syrup other then salted caramel. Here are some ideas of other syrups that I think would taste delicious: smores, hazelnut, vanilla, Irish Cream, chocolate chip cookie dough, brown sugar cinnamon, pumpkin pie, or even just regular caramel.

Lastly, I would also like to add that everyone who tries this recipe loves it. So if you aren’t a coffee person, this might actually be a coffee drink that you’ll enjoy! In addition, the salted caramel whipped coffee is a great beverage to serve if you’re trying to impress someone. In fact, the salted caramel whipped coffee would be the perfect coffee drink to serve for a breakfast, brunch or maybe even a coffee lovers birthday party. Just a few ideas!

How to Make Iced Salted Caramel Whipped Coffee

Start by putting 2 tablespoons of instant coffee and maple syrup into a cup and set it aside. Then bring the two tablespoons of water to a boil.

As soon as the water starts to boil, add the boiling water to the instant coffee/maple syrup cup. Then, mix the water, instant coffee, and maple syrup together until you don’t see anymore clumps.

A measuring spoon adding maple syrup to a glass with instant coffee.

Next, use the milk frother to make the whipped coffee. To do this, hold the milk frother in the coffee mixture and turn it on. Use your hand to make a circular motion while the milk frother is on, so that the coffee mixture becomes foamy and lighter in color. The color you are looking for is a light brown/tan color. It should only take about 1 to 2 minutes for you to make the whipped coffee.

Then, set the whipped coffee aside and get a glass with ice and add a splash of Torani salted caramel syrup and the milk. Now, add the whipped coffee to the glass with the milk, you might have to use the rubber spatula or spoon to make sure you get all of the whipped coffee.

Finally, mix it all together, and enjoy your salted caramel whipped coffee!

How to Store

I recommend storing for only a day or two if you must, or until the milk goes bad. To store the whipped coffee, just keep it in the fridge in a cup with a lid. You may want to mix it up after you take it out of the fridge.

Pin it for later!

Some Additional Notes

If you are having trouble getting the clumps out of the instant coffee mixture, you could always microwave the mixture so that the instant coffee will completely dissolve.

After you made the whipped coffee, it might separate if it sits for a few minutes. To mix it up again, just use the milk frother.

Additionally, I have made this coffee using one tablespoon of maple syrup and one tablespoon of cane sugar. In fact, this combination of maple syrup and cane sugar is also another popular hit for all who try it!

In addition, if you are trying to cut back on sugar then you could just use one tablespoon of the sweetener of your choice. Or you could even just use the syrup to sweeten the drink as well.

You could also make this drink hot too. Just heat up the milk to your desired amount of warmth, add the syrup, and then add the whipped coffee to the top and enjoy!
