Equipment

  • Blender
  • Measuring cups/spoons
  • Citrus juicer- if using fresh lemons
  • Fine mesh strainer- optional but I recommend
  • Whisk or something to mix with

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup of frozen or fresh blueberries- I like to use organic if I can!
  • 1 cup of coconut water or filtered water
  • 1/2 cup of lemon juice- about 2-3 whole lemons
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons of honey
  • 1/4 teaspoon of cream of tartar
  • Pinch of sea salt
  • Ice cubes
  • 1/2 kiwi peeled and blended in- this is an optional ingredient for a more tropical twist!

Instructions

  • Begin by blending the blueberries with the coconut water and the kiwi, if using. Then use a fine mesh strainer to make the drink smoother- optional.
  • Next, stir in the lemon juice, honey, sea salt, and cream of tartar until the dry ingredients are well mixed in.
  • Pour the cortisol cocktail into your favorite cup and add ice cubes.
  • Enjoy your blueberry cortisol cocktail chilled!
  • Alternatively, you can add all of the ingredients to the blender at once, blend, strain, and then enjoy with ice!

Notes

How to store cortisol cocktail
Fridge: You can store your cortisol cocktail in the fridge for up to 24 hours for the best freshness and flavor. Store in an air-tight glass container or bottle.
Freezer: Alternatively, you can store your cortisol cocktail in the freezer by pouring portions of it into an ice cube tray. Then thaw as needed.
Some additional notes: Make sure you shake or mix the cortisol cocktail well before drinking, because of separation.
Avoid storing the cortisol cocktail in metal containers. This is because the drink contains acidic ingredients. Instead, use glass or BPA-free plastic to ensure there aren't any unwanted reactions.
